Interpreting Results

CAPTIW© provides an instant report for review upon completion when each project is marked Complete. CAPTIW© is a comprehensive tool that examines the relationships between five constituents of the Creative and High-Performing Knowledge Workplace (CHPKW) model that Dr. Young Lee created. The five constituents include Physical Work Environment, Organizational Environment & Culture, Process, Individuals & Groups, and Innovation & Economic Competitiveness. Part 1 of the CAPTIW© consists of Organizational Environment & Culture, Process, and Individuals & Groups; Part 2 Physical Work Environment; and Part 3 Innovation & Economic Competitiveness.

Overview Section of the Report

In the report, CAPTIW© analyzes these relationships in four sections. Two sections specifically focus on the relationships between the performance of the Physical Work Environment and the performance of Innovation in a company: the Overview section and the Workspace Performance & Innovation Performance section of the report.

Analysis Part One Focus

The Overview section of the report displays a summary of the performance of the physical work environment (Workspace Performance) and the performance of innovation (Innovation Performance) in a graphically enhanced format for easy understanding. The performance information of these two constituents is indicated in comparison to the benchmark in a scoring system. The Workspace Performance is initially calculated based on a total of 10 points available in each of the seven key performance indicators (KPIs). Then, the KPIs are weighted by the level of individual impact/significance in achieving a creative and high-performing knowledge workplace that was developed with the industry and academic partners by following the mathematical procedure of analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to prioritize among the seven KPIs of the Physical Work Environment. The final scores are displayed within a total of 100 points. The Innovation performance is calculated based on a sum of all innovative performance measures in five categories, which is, then, adjusted for the sizes of the companies. The final scores are displayed as percentage for easy relative comparison against the benchmark. The first section of the Overview page summarizes and analyzes the results of the innovation strategies in Organizational Environment & Culture, Process, and Individuals & Groups against the benchmark. This section provides an indication of a company’s profile on innovation strategies and methods against the benchmark, eliciting the trends in innovation strategies and methods employed by highly creative and innovative companies. Individual companies can review their innovation strategies and methods currently employed against the benchmark in order to understand commonalities and differences between them.

Workspace Performance & Innovation Performance Section of the Report

The second section analyzing the relationships between the performance of the Physical Work Environment and the performance Innovation is the Workspace Performance and Innovation Performance Section. This section further analyzes the performance of specific KPIs in both constituents. The scores are presented against the benchmark in a graphically enhanced format for easy understanding along with a summary that explains the highest scores and lowest scores compared to the benchmark. This section also specifically highlights the performance of the individual seven KPIs the Physical Work Environment in comparison to the benchmark. By examining the scores in each category of the Workspace Performance and Innovation Performance, companies can easily understand their overall strengths and weaknesses in these areas. It is noteworthy that CAPTIW© analyses provide an excellent foundation for an initial examination of an innovative knowledge workplace. A further in-depth examination internally of the company might be necessary in order to determine which KPIs and sub-KPIs of the physical environment to enhance and how, based on the organizational direction and pursuits.

Workspace Performance and Innovation Strategies Section of the Report

The other two sections of the CAPTIW© report focus on the relationships of the Physical Work Environment against the three organizational constituents: Organizational Environment & Culture, Process, and Individuals & Groups.

Analysis Part Two Focus

This is presented in the Workspace Performance and Innovation Strategies section of the report. This section analyzes the performance of the critical Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the physical work environment in supporting specific attributes of the three organizational constituents crucial to generating organizational creativity and innovation. A set of specific sub key indicators of the Seven KPIs that are critical to achieving desirable outcomes of a certain attribute of the three organizational constituents are listed under each attribute of the three organizational constituents. The list is customized to each individual company as it shows only the attributes of the organizational constituents that are identified important by the company in Part 1 of the CAPTIW© assessment. A sub key indicator of the Seven KPIs is listed as strength when its score is above the benchmark and as opportunity when its score is below the benchmark. By examining the scores, companies can identify which key indicators to improve in order to support a specific attribute critical to enhancing creativity and innovation at the organizational level. The analysis in this section also provides another view of a list presenting only the opportunities for companies to review the scores below the benchmark alone for their convenience.

Innovation Strategies Summary Section of the Report

The last section of the report summarizes and analyzes the results of the innovation strategies in Organizational Environment & Culture, Process, and Individuals & Groups against the benchmark.
